Our History
I, Russ Adams, found edescape' design in 2004. The studio has grown since its meager beginnings; we have been involved in several productions, large and small.
Before starting escape’ design, I designed, created, and sold latex masks while living in Okinawa Japan. That was about 15 years ago. There was a limited supply of Halloween products available on the island so I started creating my own. I displayed my mask at a weekend venue, which took place at the Sea Wall. I could barely keep up with the demand. The next year I added full body latex costumes. The Superhero Line, I called them.
I peddled the costumes back and forth between Okinawa and Korea making a decent name for myself. The military kept me rather business so I was only able to do a few a years. Two years later I left the island and returned to the United States where I started over. I wasn’t able to do anything close to what I was doing on Okinawa. So, I shifted to life casting—and have been mixing the genres.
I’ve been out of the military since 1999. I took a job as a Logistics Department Head at a local manufacturing company where I learn the silkscreen printing process and the intricate details of running a business. Between the job and writing my novel, I had little time for art, but I kept at.
After leaving my logistics position, I returned to the hobby I loved and was reinvested—escape’ design was born.
Today escape' design has a sister company, Ritual Pictures. Ritual Picture produces independent films. We have already begun production on our first film, Malice--filming begins in April of 2008.
